POP-UP EXHIBITION EVERGLADES
In celebration of Native American Heritage Month, VOICES OF THE RIVER OF GRASS had the honor to establish the its first Pop-Up Everglades Exhibition on November 27th, at Buffalo Tigers Airboats.
Miccosukee and Seminole Artists Daniel Tommie, Josie Osceola, Renée Manyari, Camisha Cedartree, Houston Cypress, Cayla Willie, Lauren Cypress and Amarys Huggins exhibited at this unique event on Miccosukee homelands, working across traditional and various arte mediums.
This Pop-Up was done through an Open Call addressed to Miccosukee and Seminole artists.
We are grateful to have counted with the incredible support of Love the Everglades Movement.
This Pop-Up was done during Art Miami week, we wanted to make a statement about how art still in the XXI century is exclusive and only transit through certain territories and spaces. We invited all to come and visit our homeland, The Everglades, and see how art can surpass the standard fields.
